Sam is a littermate to Autumn (see below).  I handled him for
the first time at the White Mountain Kennel Club show, and
went winner's dog with him, but his sister Autumn beat him
for best of breed, leaving him still just needing that last
major.  I was thrilled to show him again in Flagstaff the next
month and take
Winner's Dog/Best of Winners for that
final major.  We went back in the ring together on Sunday
with Sam as a new champion and won Best of Breed under
Judge Patricia A. Gellerman.  Sam was bred by his owners,
Teresa A. Hodge, Patrick W. Smith, & Margaret E. Hodge.

I was able to handle Sirus as a favor to my herding instructor
one weekend in hopes of getting the last points necessary to
finish his championship.  This was my first experience showing
an Australian Shepherd, or any a herding breed for that
matter, and I had a great time!  Sirus did a great job for me
and although we didn't win our class on Saturday, we came
back on Sunday to go WD/BOW/BOS for the final 2 points
for his AKC Championship!

This was my very first time showing a Pharaoh Hound - and
I'm grateful to Robert for allowing me to take his boy into
the ring!  I had already decided that I was getting a Pharaoh
Hound puppy, so this was a great experience for me to have a
preview of what it would be like to show one.  Phorest was a
very good boy and showed his heart out for me, even with his
dad in the ring in front of me with another dog!

Winner's Bitch
Owned by:  Loren & Mary Chiever
This was my first experience as a "professional handler" - I
was shocked when Loren asked me to handle his beautiful girl,
Arwen, due to a ring conflict with his regular handler.  I was
terribly nervous, but Arwen took charge and showed me how
it was done!  She is a beautiful free-stacker and I was
thrilled to handle her to her final single point.  She has gone
one to win several best of breeds (with other handlers) and
remains one of my favorite Rottweiler bitches!  A huge
thanks to Loren for the honor of handling her - Arwen was
actually the first dog I put a point on!

I was honored when Teresa asked me to show Autumn for her
at the White Mountain show - Autumn is a beautiful Saluki
bitch that just needed that one last major to finish her
championship.  Due to a break from showing, Autumn was a bit
older than her competition (she is 9 years old), but she
showed great for me and I was thrilled to win that major and
finish her championship the very first time we went in the
ring together!
Autumn was bred by her owners, Teresa A.
Hodge, Patrick W. Smith, & Margaret E. Hodge.
